This past month, I attended a few days of the WM Phoenix Open golf tournament for the first time. Also caught a few films at this year's Sedona Film Festival. WM Phoenix Open I'm not really a fan of golf, but when a co-worker was in town and asked if I wanted to go, I was up for the experience. What may have impressed me the most is that there were a few hundred thousand people there, and parking and shuttles to and from the event were constant. I was really amazed at how well they…

2025 has begun. It's been a relatively uneventful month, so nothing overly exciting to report. So I'll just get to the basics. House Progress We have the start of some walls. This is our downstairs. There was a bit going on this month. I attended BBG.con in Dallas, FPFest 2024, which was online, and our house construction started. Board Game Geek Con 2024 Once again, BBGCon was a blast. The time flies by. My board gaming buddies play online throughout the year, but since I moved away from Texas, we've been good at finding time to gather in-person for some extended, physical, board gaming. Here's a list of games played. I think The White Castle nudged out the others as my favorite game i…

October, this year, felt more like summer than past years for northern Arizona. But by the last few days of the month, fall is finally making its presence known. October is also both my wedding anniversary and the anniversary for when my wife and I started our relationship. As we're about to build a house, we kept things low-key this year, just celebrating with a nice dinner and doing something we'd wanted to do for a while. Taliesin West We've wanted to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Scottsda…
