The heat of the summer is in full effect. Up in the northern area of Arizona, we've started to get a bit of rain. While it's good to get rain, that brings with it humidity and mosquitos. Bearizona My wife's birthday is in the last half of May. To celebrate she wanted to visit Bearizona in Williams, AZ about an hour and half away from our house. It was great to see all the animals, primarily rescues. Badgers, birds, elk, goats, pronghorns, buffalo, arctic wolves, and, of course, bears. But m…

Summer approaches. It finally feels like it is going to happen. I attended RailsConf 2024 which was in Detroit, MI. Since I write here about more personal stuff than work, I won't do a deep dive. Spring is definitely here now in northern Arizona. Since last time, we took a bit of a break and went on a road trip up to southern Utah to explore some areas we skipped past on a previous visit to Moab and Arches National Park. This wasn't originally on our itinerary but worth the stop. May visit here in the future when the weather is better…

I was able to get the above photo of a coyote which made it a great choice for this post's masthead considering that as I post this it's pretty cold and wet out. Not cold enough to snow, but we're still feeling winter. I obviously skipped my post for February. That was primarily due to travel. My mom visited Phoenix, so my wife and I stayed there a few days to show her around town. And then I had a work trip to…

2023 ended without too much excitement. 2024 has started, and I'm impressed with the number of films I've seen so far this year. I know I won't keep this up, but I was able to catch up with some I've wanted to see for a while. Aside from work, and watching films, I've spent my time mostly hiking and driving around looking for what we want for our house, which should start construction this summer. Watson Lake, Prescott, AZ It's been a number of years since we hiked…
